Second TIA Mission to be held this month

The Travel Industry Association - America is to hold its second TIA Mission in the country in Mumbai and Delhi on October 15 and 16, 2008, respectively. Speaking to Express TravelWorld, Sheema Vohra, director, Sartha Marketing Consultants which is organising the road show said, "Last year was the first exploratory mission where we had eight participants and most of them were tourism commissions and conventions and visitor bureaus (CVBs). This year we have 12 participants which include tourism commissions and CVBs, major US attractions and destination marketing companies."

The road show will also witness a change in the format and include a buyer-seller tradeshow in both the cities. "This is a good opportunity for the travel trade to meet and conduct business directly with top suppliers from the US. This is in line with the growing outbound market from India to the US. Our aim is to increase awareness for the US products being represented at the Mission and provide a platform for the travel trade to meet US suppliers and continue TIA's relationship with the Indian market," she added.

Schedule of the road show:

  • October 15, 2008: 11.30 am to 4 pm - Buyer-seller trade show at Sunville Banquet & Conference Rooms, Worli, Mumbai
  • October 17, 2008: 11.30 am to 4 pm - Buyer-seller trade show at the Le Meridien, New Delhi.
