Paramount Airways enters western India

Paramount Airways is entering the western India market launching its operations into Ahmedabad. The Chennai - Ahmedabad direct flight is slated for September 24. Passengers from Coimbatore, Madurai and Kochi can now directly travel to Ahmedabad through Chennai and return likewise.

Paramount's offering of a brand new aircraft along with all the trappings of a luxurious seat recline, ample leg space between seats and an ethnic signature cuisine will ensure that the airline is competitive and attracts the discerning passengers. This has enabled the airline to notch up 26 per cent market share in the southern skies which it hopes to replicate in the western sector too.

RGIA goes green, awarded LEED Silver Rating

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been awarded the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design New Construction (LEED NC) Silver Rating by US Green Building Council.

It is the first airport in Asia to be awarded the LEED certification, while Delta Terminal 'A' Redevelopment, East Boston, USA and Signature Logan Terminal, East Boston, USA are the other two airports in the world to achieve LEED New Construction Certified Rating.

P S Nair, CEO - GHIAL said "We are extremely pleased to be awarded Silver Rating under LEED NC, a culmination of our efforts to be environmentally friendly right from design stage. The focus on going green has not only helped in savings (25 per cent in energy and 30 per cent water) but has inculcated a discipline within the organisation to preserve the environment. GHIAL will constantly strive to make the airport to be a safe, secure and delightful experience for the passengers and this is another step in that direction."
