Sixt launches 'Delhi by Night'
Chetan Kapoor - Mumbai
Following the launch of new product, 'Delhi by Night', Jayajit Dey, manager
- Marketing and Alliance of car rental company, Sixt India in a conversation
with Express TravelWorld said, "We were looking at diversifying our car
rentals product and decided to work on several packages to sell experiences.
As a first leg of our diversification we have rolled out 'Delhi by Night' and
offer a complete guided tour across the city by covering important landmarks,
monuments, history of the city followed by dinner with our partner restaurants."
For Dey, it is the first time that a car rental company has come up with selling
such an experience, "The car rental companies usually work with the corporate
and after their working hours, our fleet comes back to the garage and is under-utilised.
This move will maximise our fleet utilisation and also work for the corporate
travelling to unknown cities who do not know what to do," he added.
The company is also thinking of starting a similar program in Mumbai. Dey remarked,
"This product has to be constantly developed and over a period of time,
we would be rolling out five more themes." With a present fleet of almost
400 vehicles, Sixt India will soon be soon going online with its Hyderabad station
and has also partnered with the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai for guest transfers.
