Galileo to promote Pegasus Hotel Commission Process

Galileo, with the aim of developing the non-air content on its GDS has initiated a marketing tie-up with the Indian representative (Aman Travels) of Pegasus Commissioning Process (PCP), to help streamline the hotel commissioning for the Indian travel agents.

Non-receipt of commissions has been a major deterrent for lack of confidence in agents to book on the GDS. But once this predicament is sorted out and the more travel agents books on the GDS, the number of segments for hotel booking would go up.

To give the much needed impetus to the sale of non air content on the GDS platform, Galileo in association with Pegasus has initiated a marketing campaign to create awareness of the PC Process.

This initiative has been taken to tap the non-air segment primarily in the major cities of India. This joint association would provide an opportunity for both IATA and non-IATA agents to explore hitherto untouched non-air content and thereby streamline another revenue stream for them. This system would also help in enhancing the bottomlines of the travel agents. By joining PCP, an agent saves the time and money typically spent on chasing commissions, plus they are likely to receive more commissions. Moreover this process would further facilitate in eliminating currency conversion fees from bank

With this tie-up, Pegasus connected agents can access over 100 hotel companies, representing approximately 35,000 hotels in nearly 200 countries which participate in the process. PCP enables an agent to maximise every revenue opportunity and control costs to a great extent by offering a technologically advanced commission processing service in the industry. The cost of this value-added service is shared between hotel participants and travel agency members.

Travel Agents can sign up for this product without any processing fee. Only IATA or TIDS (Travel Industry Designator Service) members can become a member. A non-IATA agent can always get enrolled with TIDS by paying US$ 175 annually and then can be a part of Pegasus Commission Processing.
