travelChaCha.com to start online car rental platform

Sanjeev Bhar - New Delhi

Sanjay Bhasin

CEO,
TravelChaCha.com

In order to strengthen its travel portfolio, TravelChaCha.com is all set to unveil its car rental facility later this month. Speaking to Express TravelWorld, Sanjay Bhasin, its CEO, said, "We are in the final stages of getting a car rental platform ready, which we expect to launch by mid-June. This will be a one-of-its-kind platform that will bring various service providers under one umbrella."

This will include as many as 500 local vendors from different cities. It is set to kick-start operations in key metros and tier II and III cities, and later cover about 150 cities across the country. "TravelChaCha.com will not only enable people to book cars in various cities but at competitive rates vis-à-vis those already in the car rental circuit," Bhasin claims. The company's new initiative will also allow customers to book cars from point A to B from a different city altogether. "This will be a very helpful medium for customers with no geographic restrictions per se and can be availed through credit card or the ITZ Cash option," he informs.

The company will use the same domain for its car rental platform using the existing system in place for its operational domains for hotel and flight bookings. Bhasin adds, "In future, we might even look at the option of tying up with various service providers in the bus segment to offer a new platform on our website."

The company is also planning to launch additional activities in adventure that will be targeted at inbound tourists and corporate incentive groups through its sister arm - Culture Holidays. "We will offer activities like camping, cycling, scuba diving and river rafting on our site by July end this year," Bhasin sums up.
