Amadeus has recently launched the Amadeus Learning City -
an easy and interactive e-learning tool for travel agents. Commenting on the
new endeavour of the company, Karun Budhraja, senior manager, marketing &
corporate communications, Amadeus India, said, "The Amadeus Learning City
e-learning tool for travel agents that allow, them to learn at their own pace,
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without incurring the costs associated with traditional
classroom trainings. This e-learning tool enables travel agents, of various
levels and experience, convenient access to effective Amadeus training techniques.
Agents can also choose to opt for a combination of different learning solutions
- online and classroom based to match their unique learning styles."
The
interactive course modules are tailored to suit individual learning styles,
at suitable times which ensure that the training does not disrupt the daily
business transactions of the agent. This translates into a greater degree of
proficiency and productivity in learning. It increases information retention
by almost 20 per cent and saves 60 per cent of the costs incurred in training.
"Today, a travel agent needs to be well-equipped with in-depth destination
knowledge, information on various cultures, advanced ticketing systems; customer
relationship management and also needs to skilfully manage all the aspects of
the trade," Budhraja expressed.
Apart from self-paced interactive courses on a variety of Amadeus System products
and functionalities, the Amadeus Learning City includes 'Travel Geography' quizzes,
product demos and printable online documentation. It will also be available
to other Amadeus customers including airlines, travel providers, corporations
and travel schools.
With the Amadeus Learning City in place, it will be heartening to see an increased
recognition for travel agents. This becomes even more pertinent, considering
that now the world is not just watching, but also experiencing travelling, stated
Budhraja.
