TAAI In Talks With Other Countries For Joint Tourism Promotion

In effort to further promote Indian tourism in prime international markets, TAAI in collaboration with the Government of India has initiated talks with the tourism boards of China, England, South Africa and Thailand to formulate a joint tourism promotion plan between India and the respective countries individually.

Speaking at the 54th TAAI Annual Convention in Sri Lanka, Balbir Mayal, president, TAAI, revealed, "We are in the final stages of talks with China, South Africa, England and Thailand to develop a plan where India and the partnering country would benefit from joint tourism promotion efforts."

In order to for a global surgence in tourism it is essential for countries to work together to reach a common goal. Through these joint tourism promotion and marketing efforts we not only hope that India and the partnering country will receive a fillip for its tourism industry, but, it will also provide a platform for the Indian travel trade to explore new markets and further penetrate existing markets, Mayal further asserted.

Commenting on the key points in the joint tourism promotion plan, Mayal added, "The key focus of the soon to be inked agreements will be marketing and promotion, another area of focus will be the working together of the partnering countries for the upliftment of the tourism industry on a global scale. A salient feature of the joint tourism promotion plan will coming together of partnering to assist other countries in need of tourism promotion."
