InterGlobe Appoints Bruce Ashby As Chief Executive Officer For IndiGo

InterGlobe recently announced the name of Bruce Ashby as chief executive officer for its new low cost carrier, IndiGo. With 20 years of airline experience in a variety of senior management positions at US Airways, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, Ashby is regarded to be one of the leading minds in the aviation business today.

We are delighted to have one of the brightest individuals in the airline industry on board as the captain of IndiGo. IndiGo's low cost airline model is based on new market stimulation as much as operational efficiencies. IndiGo has committed for 100 firm A320 family of aircraft to Airbus, making it the largest ever order in Indian aviation history. Jointly promoted by InterGlobe Enterprises Limited and Rakesh Gangwal, IndiGo is considered to be one of the most capitalised start-up airlines globally ever with an initial funding of Rs 350-400 crores. IndiGo will take to the skies in the next six to nine months.
