According to Paul Tomasch, managing director, Indochina Services, Indochina Services, “India, for me, is one of the most fascinating and exciting markets around. Its potential for the future is unlimited, in depth as well as numbers. For Indochina Services, India is important because it is a market that is less seasonal than the European or the South-East Asian market. Indians travel year-round and that is certainly an advantage in a situation where very strong high season and very weak low season that the countries of Indochina currently experience. When looking at India, we are taking an approach, which has served us well in other countries — we choose a local representative on the ground, who understands the needs of the market inside out. We are lucky to have found the right partner in India.”

Marc Sievert, director of sales, Indochina services said, “Indochina countries are booming right now, and for the many Indians who are already travelling to Thailand, this will be the obvious next step. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos offer a diversity of cultural, natural and beach attractions, which will appeal to both the leisure and MICE market. As for Myanmar, many Indians already feel a strong connection due to a shared history as well as proximity; direct flights are planned to resume in 2006, making the country easily accessible.”

Mentions Sarawan Murray, director of communications, Indochina Serives, “Our goal is to offer in-depth local expertise combined with a thorough understanding of our client markets. Our worldwide network includes three sales offices in Thailand, Germany and the United States, in addition to five representative offices in Spain, the United Kingdom, South Africa, India, and Australia. With representatives in place worldwide, our clients can be assured of contacts in their time zone, with detailed knowledge of their special requirements.”

Apart from India, Indochina Services has opened its representative office also in Johannesburg which will be headed by Kevin Prendergast.
