Navigator 2006 Launched At TAAI

From the past three years, Express Travel & Tourism through 'Navigator' has always endeavoured to provide the industry with 'cutting edge' business strategies, successful 'global practices' and the 'knowledge resources', vital to steer one's business. Navigator 2006 - the fourth in this Navigator series, which is annually launched at the TAAI Convention - has once again attempted to provide the industry with this and much more.

In Navigator 2006, Express Travel & Tourism along with our research partners Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu conducted a first ever-nationwide survey both in the domestic and international markets within all vertical of the industry.

Navigator 2006 will analyse and research the various market segmentation across the travel and tourism fraternity thereby delving into the workings of each market, its dynamics and line up trends and strategies that will shape the future of that segment. The research will also have CEOs of these various segments talk about their plans and visions of the future in their respective segments.

The Indian travel and tourism industry, over the past few years, has emerged and evolved despite unforeseen circumstances metamorphosing into the global arena with aplomb. Be it the international and domestic market or the fast developing aviation sectors, the market is buoyant with positive expectancy.

With this change, every vertical in the travel fraternity whether it is international tourism boards, airlines or even hotels for that matter have realised the need for market segmentation in the Indian scenario. This market segmentation or market dynamics basically differentiates the established from the emerging players;

  • Airlines : full service and budget
  • Hotels : premium and mid-market
  • State Tourism Boards : established and emerging
  • International Tourism Boards : established and emerging
  • Tour Operators
  • Cruise Industry
  • Travel Insurance Sector

Each of these segments is latent for the Indian tourism fraternity and an analysis of each individual segment will aid the industry to effectively advocate the industry to effectively advocate travel and hospitality, both on the international and domestic front. Navigator 2006 will highlight the outcome of this research, to elucidate core statistics (present and future), industry expectations, and growth patterns undoubtedly becoming the compass pointing the tourism industry towards understanding future trends and maximising travel promotion.
