Rail Europe Creates Waves In South India

Reema Sisodia -Mumbai

Rail Europe recently conducted a road show focused focused on the southern circuit. The roadshow was conducted in Chennai and Bangalore and proved to be a successful business building exercise. Speaking about the potential in the south and its future plans Gopi R Ienger, area manager (India and South Asia) of Rail Europe 4A - India Laison Office, said,

Gopi R Iengar

“Our two city roadshow in the south proved to be highly encouraging. We received tremendous response from the agents in the south. We had targeted approximately 50 agents who would be part of the roadshow but we were pleased to receive presentation from 70 agents at the roadshow. The increase in airline connectivity from between India and Europe has increased traffic from the southern market. Our top GSA’s were also pleased with the event as they also were successful in building their business network.” Rail Europe finds the southern belt a promising business ground as their targeted 40 per cent growth is being fuelled by the southern market. Though as of now the southern belt percentage is below th west and the north but it is regarded to be the fastest growing market. Rail Europe also plans to make its presence felt in Hyderabad in November 2005.
