Allied Telesyn Provides Network Solution For Galileo India

Galileo India, the travel distribution arm of ITQ India, has starting deploying network solutions by networking company, Allied Telesyn to improve service levels and lower the cost of ownership and operations.

Allied will provide over 850 AT-AR300 series routers across the country within a year. The delivery to Galileo will be staged in three phases; the first and second phase of the project was recently undertaken with 350 routers installed across the six metros. This new network infrastructure is intended to replace the existing set-up from SITA.

Some features of the AT-AR300 series are the security services such as the Stateful Inspection Firewall, branch office access that supports multi-sites, and small office gateway
Raja Natesan

Galileo supports a network of over 4,000 agents across India over a range of mixed media not limited to leased lines, ISDN, VSAT, broadband, analogue dialup, etc.

Rajesh Sahore, India country manager of Allied Telesyn, said, "The AT-AR300 series has an unique built-in backup system that automatically establishes connection through analogue/ISDN lines if Galileo's India primary link goes down. This will support Galileo's business by making the network always available."

Another unique feature of its routers was the in-built scripting that automatically triggers commands and allows Galileo's IT department to schedule tasks, for example, programmes to minimise time spent on configurations.

Raja Natesan, CEO of ITQ, said, "Other features of the AT-AR300 series are the security services such as the Stateful Inspection Firewall, branch office access that supports multi-sites, and small office gateway that saves costs when an enterprise router is not necessary for small offices. The ISDN/analogue backup feature can also be configured to work simultaneously with the company's leased lines to provide mixed services support, for example for high-end/low-end user prioritisation or high-speed egress/low-speed ingress segmentation."
