Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Gets New Logo And Slogan

Launches New Advertising Films

Reema Sisodia - Mumbai

‘Full of Surprises’ is what Chhattisgarh Tourism Board aims to address itself as. Coining this new slogan along with a new logo to go with the image and the theme, Chhattisgarh tourism is hoping to spearhead an all new marketing campaign. The official launch of the new logo and slogan took place in New Delhi at an event that was presided over by the Dr Raman Singh, chief minister, Chhattisgarh and the minister for tourism Brijmohan Agrawal.

As part of the new marketing initiative, the board has also put into action three advertising films for promoting the state as a tourism destination. The films will be featured and aired on most of the visual channels in India.

The three advertising films have been dedicated to three aspects of Chhattisgarh which are unique to the region. Explains Dr A Jayathilak managing director, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board(CTB), “The films have been based on three surprise features of the State. The Chitrakote waterfalls - biggest in the country; the Indira Sangeet Vishwavidyala- Asia’s only exclusive university of music and the Bastar Hill Mynah- a rare species of bird found only in Baster”.

CTB has worked with Euro RSCG Advertising to develop the scripts for the film. The film has been directed by Adfilmvalas. CTB initially plans to concentrate on the integrated development of a specific tourism area and a specific tourism circuit. Bastar has been identified as the area with the stretch from Kanha to Bastar; passing through Kawardha, Raipur, Rajim, Kanker, Keshkal and Kondagaon along the way. The CTB is also documenting the lesser known or unknown aspects of Chhattisgarh for suitable projection later. For example, it is not generally known that India’s biggest waterfalls are the Chitrakote falls in Bastar.

The State has declared tourism as an industry and all the benefits accruing thereof would be extended to the tourism sector. New hotels would be exempted from commercial taxes, luxury taxes. New ventures in the recreation sector would also be exempted from entertainment tax. The CTB also aims to evolve a system of alied memberships for the private sector stakeholders the promotion of the State would therefore be directed by the thrust of stakeholders’ involvement.
